A solid mahogany miniature breakfront, or server, made as a salesman's sample, or a jewelry box or for use in a doll house. Many of these miniature cabinets were made in this scale were to be jewelry cases, kept on the ladies' bureau. English classical sarcophagus style tea caddy. Dating from around 1820, this tea caddy is a superior example of late Georgian elegance. The fitted interior has two wooden boxes for tea and a crystal mixing bowl. The tea caddy rests on four bun feet. The tea boxes feature hinged lids. Overall condition is very good. 19th century collar box with top probably made of gutta percha. Used to store men's collars. Box is wooden with "Ward's" stamped on front. Cover features dog (Newfoundland or Retriever) in relief. This is a wonderful item of victoriana. This is an antique ivory glove stretcher dating 1880-1890s. The glove stretcher measures 8 inches long and has a scissor action pivoting on an internal bone wheel. The action has a tight return and I don't know the mechanics but it works beautifully. The glove stretcher was an essential part of every victorian woman's vanity tolls or gadgets and was used to gently stretch the fingers of the many pairs of kidskin gloves required at the time.
