A good China Trade period piece. This large napkin ring features a complex design of two carved black eyed dragons flanking a blank (never engraved) monogram cartouche, one dragon facing up, the other down. Good sized piece, it measures approx. 2 1/8 inches in diameter and 1 1/8 inches in height, it is carved from a thick walled (1/4 inch) piece of ivory. Very fine old patina, it could use a mild cleaning, otherwise it is in excellent condition.

An intricately carved ivory parasol handle depicting scenes of the Alaskan Gold Rush. I would assume this elaborately carved piece was done by a carver working in the gold fields of Alaska. The workmanship is so detailed, that it is difficult to list all the scenes as they blend into each other around the circumference of the handle. Some of the scenes are a native totem pole, a musher with his sled and dogs, a log cabin, miner's panning for gold by a stream, and a small ship with flags. The han... Click for details

This is a gorgeous antique carved ivory brooch. The design is of roses, lilies, and leaves, in extremely high relief. The carving is exquisitely detailed down to the tiny veins in the leaves, the petals on the rose, and the lilies - each separate on a delicate stem. The piece has its original inset 'C' clasp and pin. Have seldom seen such detailed workmanship.
Condition: Fine.... Click for details

This is a lovely small carved ivory lidded box that was very likely done in Dieppe, as the workmanship is extremely fine. Design on the top of the lid shows an assortment of flowers, leaves, grapes, and fruit, with a central plaque that could be used for initials if one wished. Beautiful rich color and grain to the ivory, and exceptional detail in the carving.
Condition: Fine. No cracks or chips. Lid closes firmly.... Click for details
