Beautifully carved wood figure or santos of a monk, possibly the Dominican friar, Saint Vincent, wearing a hooded cape and the monastic tonsure and holding a church or reliquary. The wood has a nice aged patina and is dense and very heavy. Condition is good except for the loss of the right hand, and some cracks in the wood consistent with a piece of this age, probably mid 19th century. Height is 19" Base is octagonal: 7" wide and 5.5" deep.
