An especially fine silk and linen sampler by Sara Ann Blake dated 1817 with flowers, bouquets, deer, and birds. This has been removed from its original frame and conserved and then replaced. Many times we overlook the verse: " Next unto GOD dear parents I address/ Myself to you in humble thankfulness/ For all your care and charge on me bestow'd/ The means of learning unto me allow'd/ Go on dear friends and may I safe obtain/ A lasting treasure which is more than gain".

This is an excellent example of Italian skill! It is outlined and drawnwork filled with needle worked lace made up of buttonhole stitches. Each of the 82, five petaled flowers,(one has only 4 petals), is made of triple bullion stitches! The five rows of openwork are also filled with darned bars ornamented with bullion stitch piqots. Fresly laundered and pressed, it is in excellent condition, with one tiny hole and broken bar in the lace edge. measures 18" X 46", very white!

Such a unique piece to add to your collection! The hand work on this unusual piece is perfectly executed tiny crosstitch in wonderful design and colors. There is lots of drawnwork throughout as well as in the needleworked hemstitching. The linen is the finest antique creamy, so cool and drapey! It measures 48" X 66". There is a light stain with penny size hand mending in the center that wouldn't show up in photo. It's not really noticed especially with the table set. I haven't tried to remove it.... Click for details

Pair of beaded Native American moccasins. These came with an attached label reading "Very rare Crow Moccasins from Montana in beautiful condition with olive coloring, circa 1860". Although this date may be correct, we find that many Native American artifacts are estimated as older than they are. The beads are in geometric patterns of green, pink, white, dark blue and yellow. In very good condition, although with slight soiling that indicates they were once worn. RL*
