This extraordinary quilt is so much more than a traditional Double Nine Patch pattern. Not only do the alternate blocks form an additional strong pattern; when seen from a distance, the viewer realizes that each Nine Patch block is set in a brown circle, all of which are gracefully connected. Excellent condition; measures 82" x 84". Well crafted. Likely an original patern. Circa 1870.

Italian drawnwork, needleworked in stunning golden colored thread, highlights this creamy, very drapey natural linen towel. The 21" wide design is of a large fruit filled urn flanked by winged griffins. All four sides have drawnworked hem stitching in the same golden color! It meaures 25" X 46". Perfect,but for a small hand repair on the opposite end and a dropped slub in the linen(shown in last photo) I hardly noticed it until I ironed it after laundering. This creamy natural linen boudoir case for pillow or night dress is completely handmade! The beautiful, heavily worked eyelet floral design is so beautifully worked with buttonhole and embroidery stitches and completely edged with handmade lace. It's just perfect! Quite an addition to your bed's pillow collection! It was most likely a trousseau piece,late 1800's. Measures 13.5" X 16.5" with the flap closed.

Bold applique quilt in the colors so popular in Berks County, Pennsylvania in the late 19th century. The pattern is as "in your face" as are the colors. Mint, unwashed condition. Measures 74" x 76"; circa 1890. Nicely hand quilted and machine appliqued. The blue color may may a little more on the teal/green side than shows on the screen.

Featuring a woman selling fruit to a man and his mounted wife. A Prince courting his lover, and a squire courting a maid. This fine tapestry is made of Picardy and Arras wool, Italian silk and Cypriot gold and sliver gilt thread. Circa 1850. h. 22" w. 39".

Pristine and unwashed Kansas Troubles quilt, also known as Sawtooth or Delectable Mountains. The tan is a warm, soft cafe au lait color; it does not have any of the olive tone that may show on your monitor. The use of these two particular solid color fabrics abutting one another makes an unpredictably intense palette. Quilted with pink thread throughout. Measures 88" square; Pennsylvania origin. Circa 1920.
