Here is a very large piece of medium-heavy flat finish fabric with an warm, pale ivory background. The background also has a muted vertical stripe that gives the illusion of translucent window curtains hanging behind the foreground motif. The foreground motif is of pretty window baskets overflowing with flowers and suspended by ribbons. This very large piece measures 32"W x 60H, with the baskets of flowers measuring 6" across. Some faint water spotting near the bottom edge. Ca. 1920

The piece measures 30.5"W ... Click for details

This embroidered piece was originally intended as an altar front. But, it has no religious theme, and would work nicely in a secular setting. The ground is off-white with a slight sheen. The scrolling, flowering vines span the entire length of the valance and are 'anchored' by fleur-de-lys. The bottom edge is trimmed with gold bullion fringe. 95"W x 9.5"H plus a 1.5" fringe. Ca. 1900
