This antique Victorian or Edwardian ivory silk camisole trimmed lavishly with cotton lace is a rare find -- pretty enough to wear as a blouse, not just a luxurious undergarment. In near-perfect condition, it needs only new ribbons at the shoulders and waist. Since the straps and drawstring should be precisely fitted to the new owner, I haven't replaced them. Our superb lace collar from the late 19th or very early 20th century is as detailed in back as in front. Each element of the ecru lace - flowers, grapes, leaves and so forth - was stitched by hand onto fine netting that's a beautiful color match. I'm not expert enough about textiles to be sure the lace elements are also hand-crafted, but feel that's likely, given the design quality of the piece and the loving care it's been given.
