An American sampler showing animals, a house, trees, and even a tea kettle, with the alphabet. Dated 1862. The condition is not perfect; some of the stitching (the house's roof)is gone. A serrated-like border is hidden in the old gilt frame. In as found condition we describe as fair. Site is 12" X 8 1/2" and the frame make 13" X 10" RL*

This richly executed mid 19th century Italian tapestry depicting romance in a Spanish town square scene during market time is mounted and framed in an old hand carved wood frame. Featuring a woman selling fruit to a man and his mounted wife. A Prince courting his lover, and a squire courting a maid. This fine tapestry is made of Picardy and Arras wool, Italian silk and Cypriot gold and sliver gilt thread. Circa 1850. h. 22" w. 39".
