Rare homespun linen and hemp "country" towels of this quality are so rarely found. They usually were worn out! This splendid towel has to be one of my favorites! It has 3 rows of Italian openwork lace and buttonhole stitched scallops on each end. Then there's the gorgeous MC,MG,CM or MG monogram with cutworked floral vines trailing. All by hand! It measures 46" x 33" and was most likely a trousseau piece intended for bath. My photos just don't do justice to this wonderful piece! Photo 2 shows it to be yellowed, but the towel is bright white all over. Absolutely perfect, but for one small pinhole on the b... Click for details
