This is an absolutely delightful example of "society silk" embroidery in Kensington stitch which uses layers,directionality and very fine gradations of colors and shades to create classic botanical realism. This wonderful heavy linen drapery panel is covered with hand embroidered cutwork and insertions of Italian Needle lace! The photos just don't do it justice,but I hope you can see the detail! It measures 45" by 90" It is older unbleached linen and it will most likely lighten with laundering.The wide lace is fantastic! I plan to give better photos and detail soon. Age stains don't detract at all, I would use this as is. Excellent condition ! Sold as found.

This lovely example of naive hand embroidery on wonderful unbleached antique linen was most likely made at home, perhaps for a bride's trousseau. It has a wonderful overall pattern of cutwork and floral embroidery and stitchery in white pearly cotton thread, making a subtle contrast on the creamy unbleached linen. It is hand hemmed with 2" of lace attached by machine stitch .It measures 96" x 64". There are few very faint pale age stains that will continue to fade with laundering. The condition...
