Dating to around 1890 / 1900, late Victorian or Edwardian, this a beautiful solid oak letter box with brass mounts to the top and front panel.
The is a shield shaped mount to the centre of the lid with decorative initials engraved, which look to be J.J. or F.F., there is also a matching shield shaped escutcheon.
The interior is divided into six compartments with widths measuring 8 3/4" / 5 1/2" / 3 3/4" / 3 1/4".
Excellent condition, the box measures 10" x 5" x 6 3/4" tall at rear.

English sterling snuff box with equestrian scene made in London, 1817, by box maker William Price. Scene features jockey mounted horse jumping a fence. Bottom and sides are ribbed. Some wear commensurate with age. Hinged top fights tightly. A very handsome box with a highly collectible motif.
Hallmarks: (top interior) "W.P" for William Price, rampant lion for Britain, date letter "b" for 1817.

A simple but adorable jewelry box made from lime tree during the reign of Napoleon III and featuring a faux-walnut painting on the façade and sides, highlighted with inlaid borders.
