Antique Japanese Tea Box c.1900

This wooden box was used for storing green tea. The box is made of wood it has a lacquer finish decorated in a hand painted floral design with birds. The box has a hinged top and a metal (tin?) liner. The box measures 9 3/4 inches long, 8 3/4 inches tall, 12 1/4 inches wide and 7 3/4 inches deep. There is lacquer missing chipped/worn but the box is in very good condition, not cracked or broken. This old Japanese box has lots of character.

Three Tiered Sewing Box

A very interesting sewing box constructed of three tiered drawers. Each tier has dowels for spools of thread and is constructed of old cigar boxes. It has a shaker style to it but is marked on the bottom "Factory No. 57; 3d Diet, N.Y.; 50". You can tell that it is hand made. The weight is very light and has been stained a cherry color. Condition is very good with all it's original dowels. It measures 8 3/8" wide by 5 1/4" deep by 10 1/4" tall.

Inlay, octagon sewing box with alternating diamond pattern. The main frame is made of oak with paneled sections of multi-stained pieces of wood giving a striped effect. The pin cushion lid opens to a red velvet lined interior with a mirror. Condition is pretty good with some wear to the mirror and a tear to the pin cushion. The box measures 11 3/4" by 8 1/2" deep by 7 1/2" tall.

Tramp art box with many zig zag designs that seem to dazzle the eyes. This wonderful box has wonderful patina that gives it a great look. The interior has been relined in a light purple fabric that was done some time ago. The box measures 11 1/2 inches wide by 7 1/2 Inches deep by 7 1/4" tall. There is a dryness crack that can be seen on the bottom. Other than that crack, condition is very good.

Wonderful tramp art sewing box with lift top pincushion lid and four small drawers. A warm chocolate brown patina gives this box a great look. The drawers have little brass ring pulls. The interior of the drawers have been painted a dark, ruby red with traces of yellow paint. The interior of the lid has been lined with a khaki green felt. The body of the box rests on two long runner feet. The box measures 10 inches wide by 10 inches tall by 6 1/4" deep. Condition is excellent.
