Early walnut inlaid sewing box with tray, circa 1820. This American inlaid sewing box is in excellent condition, with fan inlay in each corner, and a decorative silver insert in the top. The silk lined inside tray and mirror are original to the box. The bottom is dovetailed to the sides. Measures 10 x 7 x 4.5. Shipping extra. An absolutely exquisite French writing box dating to around 1850, really solid and extremely heavy this box is pure quality.
Every side of the exterior is beautifully engraved including the back, so still looking magnificent on a desk that faces out into the room. The bottom is trimmed with a twisted rope all around the base.
The lid lifts and reveals the interior still retaining it's navy blue moire of taffeta silk lining, still in great condition with some expected wear in a few places. ... Click for details

A superb late Victorian stationery caddy in brass with stunning all over repousse decoration with a definite Art Nouveau feel, with stylised flowers amongst all the scrolls and foliate decoration; really quite stunning.
There is a little solid bras knob at the front of the lid, making it easy to lift to reveal the interior. Inside is beautifully lined in wood, with three divisions, each measuring 7 1/2" wide.

A stunning and rare English 19th century Tunbridgeware dressing table caddy with a wide floral frieze running right around the centre.
The box stands on it's four original bun-shaped stickware feet, amazing work. There are two cut crystal scent bottles both in excellent shape with there original cut glass stoppers.
There is a central lidded compartment in the centre with the lid made from exotic Rosewood with it's delicate turned knob.
