A finely carved and stained lindenwood box, surmounted with a shepherd leaning against a tree stump, playing his flute for his attentive dog. The eight splayed corners with an outcrop of rock and vegetation and carved ram and sheep. The shepherd's arm and ram horn have been exceptionally and professionally restored. An outstanding piece of this genre. 12 x 10 x 8 inches Swiss Circa 1880-1890

An interesting silver plated 2-5/8" x 1-1/2" hinged-lid stamp box c1890-1900. This unsigned box features a floral corner applique and two applied butterflies on the top, a pin stop and corner swinging pivot. The interior has remnants of what appears to be adhesive from some missing material and it has two cutout felt pieces; it would make a nice jewellery box.
