This is a massive, Anglo-Indian, antique Gujarat art teakwood main entrance door from c1850. Recently restored and imported from India. From an old haveli, a royal home with courtyard, this unique door and frame is embellished with the typical lotus flower and brass knobs of Gujarat. Side supports are made from solid one-piece beams. This elaborate and unique doorway, c1860, was styled by artisans from the south of India. Top panel has the image of LAKSHMI, the Indian Goddess of Wealth, who's flanked by elephants known as GAJA LAKSHMI on each side. The large horses on eiher sides of the door are guarding the entire doorway. Elegantly molded door panels were uniquely designed with three different shapes. This exceptional French marble mantle is in excellent condition, circa 1880. Having a beautiful white color, also known as carrera marble. Notice the detail images and the deep, fine carving throughout this piece. This is not your average marble mantle, and truly belongs in a fine home! It measures 57W x 15.5D x 43H. Even the sides of this mantle are carved marble panels - a very rare feature for antique mantles.
