Rare carved wood temple ornament with two hamsa (myth. goose from himalaya riding animal for Brahma and Varuna) Most likely Burmese (looks very much like the ones you can see on the Nanpaya temples, Pagan.) but could also be from the Deccan region, india what someone wrote on the back of this piece and I was told it could also come from srihlanka. It's of Hindu religion and origin. The wood has this wonderful grey colour that comes with age. This piece could be very much older then 19th. century... Click for details

How can anyone describe through mere words these wonderful hand hewn and carved angelic corbels from Europe? These were obviously made from an act of love, as one angel is a boy, identified by the thin face and swept back hair and surrounded by a crows feet pattern about the inner base of the wings. The other a girl with fat cheeks and mouth slightly opened as to suggest a giggle, with her hair close to the sides of her cheeks and extending to the shoulder area, she is surrounded by normal swe...
