A French 18th century barometer and thermometer in gilt wood. The top part with a mercury thermometer is decorated with flowers and garland. The barometer dial is signed "Bertin, rue du faubourg saint-antoine à Paris", and comes with the original mechanism in the back. Very good condition. Transition Period, Circa: 1770. Dim: W: 14,6 in - D: 3,9in - H: 43,3in.

Nicely carved limestone octagonal finial in 2 sections. The top half (an octahedron?) has a hole which fits nicely over the spike extending from the bottom octagonal plinth. Condition is good with some old nicks and grime and green growth. Total height is 10" The top octagonal ball is 5.5" at its widest point.
