American Victorian black walnut upholstered arm chair c1875 with burl walnut accents.This chair would make a handsome desk chair. Measures 41 and one half inches to the top of its back, 25 inches wide, 23 inches deep and 19 and one half inches to the top of its upholstered seat. Excellent condition with original finish. The original inset carerra marble sits upon an intricately adorned apron accented with the classical twisted ribbon pattern and is supported by 4 lovely scrolled cabriole legs joined by a bottom caned shelf. Originally from Provence, this piece boasts a lovely scrolled frame adorned with wheat and floral patterns and suggests that it was made as a present for a wedding due to embellishment located on the front rail depicting a nest with a couple of birds underneath drapery. Circa date 1830. Mattress Frame: 28 ¼”high/ 75 ¼”long.
