An American slant front desk of the Federal era, ca 1800-1820. A solid mahogany desk with a hinged writing surface opening above four graduated drawers. A non-stepped interior of curly maple with drawers and a prospect door. The original splayed French feet emerge below inlaid maple banding. Repairs and restorations are relatively minor and include replaced losses of some banding inlay, repair of writing surface door hinges, and thumbnail moldings.
