These tables are very hard to come by now. When I saw my first piece, in a shop window in Hong Kong, I was very excited! The wood is northern elm (yumu). The lacquer on the top has worn away, but the cherry burgundy lacquer on the rest of the table is in good condition. The hardware is replaced. The size is 39x24x34H.The coffer would make a great bedside table.

A recent find from Northern China. This stool is the type of piece that would have been multi-functional. Because of its'low height, this stool is especially good for people with bad knees. The stool is also strong enough to stand on.The size is 12x11 high. The wood is quite dense. We believe the wood is locust. It is from the 19th century.

This early 19th century elm wood (yumu) stool/table, is a good example of a "antique in the raw". Most of the original red burgundy lacquer has worn away over time. The stool has not been stripped! The size is 18x14x21h.This stool is the type of piece that has been copied many times. This is an original one.
