Beautiful antique Japanese low table who can be use as a tea table ,is in wood black lack the top is hand painted with a Japanese landscape of a Fujiyama Mountain,is with mother pearl inlaid also.Signed at the bottom right Some little spot was restored maybe for 50 years ago, but the table is so far in good condition . Superb quality antique choba-dansu, Japanese merchant tansu chest. This piece dates to the late Meiji-Period (c.1900), and features exceptional craftsmanship. The frame and drawer fronts are constructed of finely grained hinoki, a subspecies of cypress indigenous to Japan, with sugi (Japanese cedar) panels. The drawer cases are crafted from kiri, or paulownia. The choba dansu measures a little under 36 inches (3') in both width and height, and 17 1/2" deep. The two sliding doors hide an inn...
