A 19th century ornately carved gilt torchiere with leaded and stained glass windows. It is set atop a red and gold Fortuny-covered pole in a wrought iron and stone base with putti and shields. Purportedly from Wm. Merritt Chase’s barn in Shinnecock Hills, Southampton, NY, the torchiere is approximately 9’ 2” and has been newly rewired w/ one regular three-way light socket. (Ceiling in pic is 10’.) VERY DRAMATIC !!
