Here we have c1860 pontil bottle from POWERS AND WEIGHTMAN of PHILADELPHIA that once contained HYDROCYANIC ACID, better known as CYANIDE. It comes to us from a long-closed pharmacy museum. We left the inventory control stickers on it. This is an early, rough-pontil bottle! The glass stopper is stuck in position, so we did not try to force it open. This is a wonderful, early example, and measures 4" tall to the end of the stopper. A clean bottle, with no residue remaining!

Here we have one of the EARLY Humphreys' remedies. It is unopened, and contains a corked, glass vial and flier. This remedy is 3.25" long. In later years, the company toned down the risque nude lady on the packaging, and had to discontinue remedies such as this malaria treatment.

Epilepsy remedies are quite hard to find. This one was found in the basement of an Illinois drug store that closed many years ago. It is unopened, and is 6.25" tall. THE TUCKER PHARMACAL COMPANY was located in NEW YORK CITY. Notice the fine embossing on the back. The bottle retains about 1/2 of its contents, as some was lost to evaporation over the past 100 or so years.
