Extremely quaint example about 3 3/4" width. The case made of two hinged blocks of wood made noticeably out of square with handmade brass hinges, hook and eye fasteners and inset brass securing plates. 3" circular compass inset with printed and hand colored paper face, commercial arrow form needle (the tail actually fretted to simulate feathers) and inset circular glass base secured with putty.
