This wonderful old remedy is from SCHIEFFELIN AND COMPANY of NEW YORK CITY. Although it does not show well in the photos, the back of the bottle is embossed with a large, and very ornate, "S" which was the company logo. CALCIUM SULPHATE was used to treat many types of infection, including GONORRHEA AND SYPHILIS. This bottle dates to c1910 and is 2.5" tall. Here we have a very colorful cobalt poison bottle from THE AMERICAN PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANY of NEW YORK CITY. It is embossed POISON on two panels with vertical and horizontal ribbing. A colorful yellow label completes the two other sides. This exceptional bottle is 3" tall. The bottom is embossed "1". About 1/2 the contents remain. 18th century Trepan Brace with Accessories. Very rare medical neurosurgical instrument dating back to 1760-1780. Most probably of Dutch origin. The instrument comes from the collection of a retired Dutch family doctor. Trepan made of iron in the form of a brace with rotating handles. It has the classic shape dating back to 1760-1780. This is an exceptional, late 19th century, medical doctor's advertising paper sign in its original oak frame that measures approximately 12” high x 14” wide. Dr. Aiken limited his office hours to perhaps complete home visits on his horse and buggy.
