Victorian C. 1870-1900 Lovely Sterling Silver Baby Teether and Whistle. It has mother-of-pearl set into the sterling silver. It is 4 1/4" in length and 2" across the hanging and dangling rattles. It is done by hand by a old experienced craftsman in the late 19th century. There is a resemblance of a mark but not decipherable. This outstanding eight-sided cobalt blue poison bottle is embossed TEASDALE CHLORODYNE. It is 5" tall and dates to c1880. This remedy contained LAUDANUM (OPIUM), CANNABIS and CHLOROFORM. It was originally promoted as a treatment for cholera, and the list was later expanded to include diarrhea, cough, migraine headache--just about everything!
