For the love of Dogs! This one certainly looks like man's best friend. It has a glow that makes me think it's pewter rather than spelter. the old red velvet cushion seems to be original, and has been restitchedwith some of the original sawdust leaked out. I actually have the sawdust and will refill and stitch if you prefer. Such a fine addition to your dog or sewing implement collection

Scottish Mauchlinware Tartenware John Clark Junior & Co. Thread Box, c. 1850-90 With John Rogers Group on the lid of the Council of War, which is original rare decoration, with Bonne Prince Charlie Tartan. Six sizes of thread, 36, 40, 50, 60, 70, and 80. With bone reinforcements. This is a great collectors item. 4 inches wide x 2 3/4 inches deep x 2 inches high.

Here is another gold thimble that came from a collector who had been busy for many years searching out unique designs. This Victorian Era Thimble is in fine condition and has a seven sided shape bottom. It has a pattern of honeycomb dimples on top. There is lovely engraving that looks like waves which alternates with flat unengraved panels around the bottom edge. Really pretty! Here is another gold thimble that came from a collector who had been busy for many years searching out unique designs. This Victorian Era Thimble is in fine condition with a pattern of honeycomb dimples on top. There is an unusual band of engraving all around the bottom edge of Flowers that reminds me of Pennsylvanian Dutch Design. Really pretty! Also engraved on the front is the name Mary in script and the # 9 for size. No other markings that I could find but has been tested and is 10K or high... Click for details

This thimble came from a collector who had been busy for many years searching out unique designs. This Victorian Era Thimble is in fine condition with a pattern of honeycomb dimples on top. There is an unusual band of engraving all around the bottom edge of grapes on their vines. Really lovely! Also engraved on the front is the name A Otis and the # 8 for size. This is a very attractive antique straw work needle case C. mid 1800's. The art of straw work was originally done by Napoleonic prisoners of war to improve their living conditions. This needle case box is made of cut thin pieces of straw affixed to a pressed paper shape and dyed in vivid colors with a geometric pattern design. On one end of the case is the design of a rose.
