This is a gold thimble made by the Simons company of Philadelphia. It has an engraved landscape design with sun, houses, mountains . It is size 7 and has the initial B in Old English Text font. The size is 3/4" tall and 1/2" diameter. The condition is excellent : No bends, holes, or restoration.

This is an early Victorian horn needle case covered with fur to form the shape of a sheep leg with a cloven hoof. The top of the case has an attractive scallop. It is in excellent condition with fur intact. there is one tiny nick on the edge of the cover. It is 3" long.

This is a beautiful thimble in a brown leather case labeled The Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co. 112 Regent St. London. The maker's mark is difficult, but the anchor for Birmingham, P for 1889, 625 for 15 karat and size 19 are clear. There is no monogram. The photography is difficult because the thimble is so bright and shiny. It is very heavy.

I am sure the embroidery scissors are 19th century French. The points are good and the scissors are sharp. I think I see the hallmark at the very base of the handles. They are 4 1/4" long.

This is a pair of silver scissors marked 800. Each blade is cast in one piece with the handle.I am not sure of their use, because they do not cut. They would pull - like ribbon through lace. Also, the blade has a pretty shape. They are 4 1/4" long.

This is a Victorian thimble case. It could also hold pins and/or needles. Two mother of pearl half shells were hinged together to form the case. It is in excellent used condition. No scrapes or breaks. It holds a brass thimble. It is about 2 1/4" long.

This is a wonderful 18th century etui containing scissors, pencil, ivory note page, ear spoon,file,paper knife and a brass spoon. The baroque pattern is enhanced with a rough ground behind the scrolls. The etui was a small case equipped with small personal items that fit into a pocket or the hand. This is a beautiful tape measure with hallmarks that show it was made in London in 1902 of 18K gold. The tape is very fragile and dissolving so I am calling it a tape measure case. It has a chatelaine loop. It is in very good condition except for the tape. SIZE: 1" TALL; 5/8" DIAMETER.
