Two demons standing, left foot slightly before right foot, legs a bit bent. One of them has both hands up, holding now missing objects. The other one holds a notebook in his right hand and a now missing object on his left shoulder. Probably these demons were assistants in one of the Buddhist hells. Boxwood. The enamel work on this vase nicely detailed in a rich color palette. It still has the original Kinkozan studio paper label, along with a Kinkozan signature. The condition is excellent with no damages or restorations and it measures 3.5" x 2.5". It dates about 1900 - 1915.

A good, antique chinese Yixing pottery tea pot decorated with incised calligraphy to one side and a spray of blossom to the other. There is an indistinct sealmark inside the lid.

Dating c. 1900-20, it measures 7 1/4inches (18.4 cms) from tips of spout and handle.

There is a chip to the lid (see photos). It is in otherwise good condition.

This the largest teapot we have seen in the dragon form. The handle forms the arching back of the dragon and its toes sit at the base of the handle. The condition is excellent with no damages or restorations. It measures 7" x 7.5" and dates about 1860.

Bishamon is one of the more difficult Gods of Good Fortune to find in Satsuma. The quality of both sculpting and enamel on this figurine fabulous. The pagoda in his hand appears to be re-glued; otherwise the condition is fine. It measures 9" x 7.5" and dates about 1850 - 1860.

This is a wonderful subject matter of a young boy leaning against a resting ox. The detail of the sculpting and enamel is excellent. It should be noted that the horns and tail are restored. It measures 12" x 8" x 8" and dates about 1850 - 1860.

Small wooden carving of excellent quality: tiger with flaming groin, looking back and fiercely growling, standing on a rock between stalks of bamboo. Details: A good sized and unusual example of a bronze seated Buddha from probably the Lang Chang region of Laos. Buddha is seated in Maravijaya upon a high stepped, incised, lotus base. He is deep in meditation with his silver inlaid eyes in trance like concentration above smiling crimson lips. His body is powerful with strong broad shoulders and arms tapering down to a slim waist and muscular legs. His hands are in Bhumisparsha mudra with typically Lao equal length fingers. ...
