Ba Kuba peoples, Congo, late 19th - early 20th Century. This is a very old, antique, Noble's basketry hat, worn exclusively by male Nobles of the Ba Kuba kingdom, as a sign of rank. Finely woven, the Ba Kuba reserved their best basketry work for these small caps, worn at the back of the head, by Noble men of the Ba Kuba. Measuring approximately 6 1/2" - 6.5 cm. in width, there are some separations evident, typical of these very old pieces, but these are, indeed, Rare.

African copper currency from Congo (Zaire) ca. 1900. This seems like an earthen find. 18 cm x 18 cm. 431 gram. Made in a sand mold, that's why top side has a rippled surface, the copper cooled of faster in open air. Was bundled and freighted down the river in canoes.

A rosewater sprinkler from Islamic N-Africa, perhaps Morocco. I estimate it to be ca. 80-100 years old. There is a nice stamp in the bottom. Seems to be silver-plated brass. Condition is nice a few nicks and small dents. Separates easily. H: 25 cm
