Luba figure of typical form decorated with stylized scarification in form of a circle and dot motif beneath the bent arms held close to the torso and holding the breasts. The body is pierced with a worn hole under the shoulders.
This pendant were worn close to the body and was a portrait of a certain revered ancestor. It has a nice smooth patina from wear. Height: 11,5 cm. Provenance: Richard von Garvens before 1920.

Very old face mask, of oval shape, its forehead surmounted by a tiny female figure and decorated with protruding scarifications, small ears, pierced through slit eyes, long and thin nose, tiny mouth in relief, receding chin. Small group showing two human beings, one female and one male, sitting on a high platform, with two superimposed animals (probably chameleons) between them. Bronze, fine dark-green patina with numerous reddish areas (a sign of great age), which suggest that the piece dates back to the 19th century, maybe earlier. Traces of soil encrustation.
