This is an Antique WHite Faced Tri Form Wood Head Dress African Ceremonial Tribal Mask, age wear, old repairs, mounted on base, collected in early 1940's, professionally estiamted to have been produced in the early 20th Century. Mask is 17 inches high x 10 1/4 inches wide x 15 1/2 inches deep. Base is 20 1/4 inches high x 8 3/4 inches wide x 7 3/8 inches deep. Overall height when mask is mounted is 32 inches.

This is a Fon (also called Dahomey) male figure 8 1/8" high from Benin, West Africa. The man is in a trance with his eyes closed. It came from the collection of G Mennen Williams, former governor of Michigan, Ambassador to Africa and heir to the Mennen soap company. His nickname was "soapy".
