Surmounted with standing figures having low relief features, arms flanking the bod and large oval eyes. Wearing earplugs, circular patterned tunic and a squared headdress with similar decoration. -- Condition: Both intact.

Colourful! Textile fragment from the Nazca culture of ancient Peru, ca. 200 B.C. Wonderful red textile featuring several differnt types of creatures - deer?, toucans, fish, more. Textile is actually in two part, sewn together at mid-seam. All original pigments, still bright and strong. 13-3/4"L x 8-3/4"W, fragmentary, as shown, with worn areas, areas repaired in antiquity, and other areas needing repair. A lovely Chancay textile from Peru, ca. 1100 – 1450 AD. This is a complete shirt for an adolescent or female and measures 14” long and 12” wide. It is made from brown and tan striped cloth, with a green center stripe. Overall in excellent condition, with signs of wear and light staining. Beautifully framed and ready to hang.

A sweet Guangala whistle figure from Ecuador, ca. 500 BC – 300 AD. This standing male is 6-1/2” high and is posed with arms to the sides. The incised designs represent clothing and ritual tattoos. In excellent condition, with good mineral deposits on the burnished slip. Great tone on the two built-in whistles. See Valdez “Amerindian Signs”, page 105, for similar.

An excellent Moche II figure from Peru, ca. 100 – 200 AD. This 7-1/4” high male portrays a vendor selling funerary offerings. He is depicted seated, with a textile tucked under the left arm and holding a canchero in the right hand. A typical stirrup bottle is suspended from the strap of his large shuspa. His face is tattooed with an incised mythical serpent creature with two heads and his ears are perforated. Overall in excellent condition, with good paint, mineral deposits and just a minor...
