Collector Walter Glowacki purchased this lot of 23 Columbian River points (WG101) at an Indian show in Denver in 1981. Measuring from ˝” to a little over 1” in length, the stone types include black obsidian, mahogany obsidian, translucent chalcedony, jasper, agate, and opaque chalcedony of various other colors. Condition varies from overall good (minor nicks and dings on 9 points) to excellent (on the balance). The point types all fall in the Desert Tradition category, dating c.1600-400BP. A goo... Measuring 2 5/8” in length, this rectangular bannerstone (WG103) is triangular in cross-section. It was found in Adams County, Illinois (so-marked with black ink on one side) and dates into the Archaic Period, c.7000-4000BP. Made from mottled ferruginous quartzite, it is slightly concave along its outer edges, and has a moderate polish.
