Small but intricately carved... Ancient Pre-Columbian Maya Jade / Jadeite Deity Pendant, Guatemala, ca. 300 to 900 A.D. Carved in mottled green stone, and most probably would have graced the chest of an Mayan king or shaman by means of a chord woven through the side openings (much like a necklace). 1-1/8"L x 5-8"W x 1/2"D, intact/excellent condition with typical surface wear.

The three larger obsidian blades shown in this group (MAP155, 156 and 157) were all found in West Mexico in the mid-20th century by the late Lynn Langdon. Previously sold to another collector, they have now come back to HD Enterprises as the present owner sells off his collection. These are some of the nicer blades from Lynn’s old collection, and one of them presents somewhat of a mystery.
