Possibly a representation of the wind god, this 9” tall stone sculpture (AXH1461B) is from the Dr. Allen Heflin collection. Marked on the back on a white ink panel is Heflin’s note that it was found in Vera Cruz, Mexico. Though he didn’t attribute it to a specific group, it is thought to be Huasteca in origin, dating c.900-1300AD.
