Beginning in the Middle Paracas Period (ca. 400 B.C.), the Cavernas Trophy Head Cult developed in the Ica Valley of Peru. What a cute little figure! This figure of an expressive, chubby noble is a good example of why Moche art is appreciated as some of the finest of ancient South America. This is a wooden mask from from Guatemala from the first half of the 20th century, possibly early in the century. It has good patina. The horns have been replaced to restore the mask to its original appearance. There are strong pigments of red, black and white and is 7.5 inches tall. This mask shows wear that is consistent with its age and use. This is an authentic mask that was used for tribal purposes.

Early 20 century 3 inch tall pectoral cross pendant made of five 5 centavos coins from Ecuador. 2 front facing coins are dated:1893,1893, back facing coins: 1924, 1924, & 1 is obliterated by lumps of solder.
