Finely chased and fashioned ancient Egyptian Style Bronze Heart Scarab, with hieroglyphic Book of the Dead quotation on bottom, in the manner of the Third Intermediate Period - Dynasties XXI-XXVI - (1070 - 525 BCE). A solid cast bronze arm from a large statuette of a deity.
The casting is of the highest quality and minute details can still be observed on the fingers and thumb. The dove-tailed attachment tang is also interesting as it shows how larger-scale figures were assembled by Egyptian master craftsmen.

Bronze striding deity with arms down the sides, wearing a kilt, a tripartite wig, a false beard and a characteristic lotus-form, menat flanked headress. Late Period, 600-332 B.C. Ex. New Jersey private collection. Intact as shown. 3 inches high. Nefertum is the third member of the Memphite Triad. He is the Son of Ptah and Sekhmet. Nefertum is depicted with a lotus flower on his head. He is the god of each morning's creation of day. He was also the god of perfumes and aromatics.

This bronze constituted part of the rarely-used Hemhemet Crown of a lifesized statue of a pharaoh or Osiris. Above the ram's horn of Amon rises the elements of the basket-work crown of Upper Egypt and the Cobra of Lower Egypt. Details of all the surfaces are very clear, including sections of copper inlay, at one time probably gilded, on the snake's body. New Kingdom, Sixteenth to Fourteenth Centuries B.C. Excellent patinated condition, approximately 3-1/2 inches by two inches.

Egyptian Bronze and Alabaster Eyes, Late New Kingdom, ca., 1307-1069 BCE These almond shaped eye inlays have well formed lids and cosmetic lines crafted of bronze. The eyes themselves are made of alabaster. The pupils are in Bronze . The inlays were perhaps from a sarcophagus or a monumental statue.
CONDITION:
The eye inlays are in fine condition. (also the Eyes comes with stand that holds the eyes).
