Osiris is depicted with his famous double crown, which is shown here in excellent detail. His arms with the crook and flail are crossed on his chest and even the detail to his eyes, nose, mouth, and false beard is amazing. A rare depiction of the goddess with a scorpion body and a human head. She is wearing a tripartite wig, crown with disc, cows horns and uraeus. 1 3/4 inches long. Defective as shown. 26th/30th Dynasty 600-332 B.C. From a British collection. Selket watched over Qebehsenuef, one of the four sons of Horus, who in turn protected the intestines of the deceased. Selket was also a protector from venomous bites.

Egyptian Bronze and Alabaster Eyes, Late New Kingdom, ca., 1307-1069 BCE These almond shaped eye inlays have well formed lids and cosmetic lines crafted of bronze. The eyes themselves are made of alabaster. The pupils are in Bronze . The inlays were perhaps from a sarcophagus or a monumental statue. CONDITION: The eye inlays are in fine condition.
