Roman Period. 3 1/2” width. Finely sculpted and probably from a larger work, perhaps a frieze surrounding a tomb door. Red terra cotta is usually associated with Memphis. A fine fragment from the time of Cleopatra, which, if more complete, would be valued in the thousands.
