4th Century B.C Smooth orange clay with black gloss and red wash decoration. Near-ovoid body, high concave neck with splayed rim and trefoil mouth, high swung rounded handle. Tongues decorating shoulder, motif of X's encircling belly above ground line of S-hooks. For similarly shaped, decorated wares cf. Hayes 1984 192-193. In excellent condition, with some minor abrasions and loss of gloss, measures 15.5cm (H).
