Early Iron Age Geometric Period C.1000-800 BC. 6 1/2” height. Turnip form body, red below the waist, the upper section with four concentric circle patterns and double bands to the neck. The thick handle with brown bands as well. Excellent throughout with bright decoration beneath light surface encrustation from burial. Museum quality, completely.intact and undamaged.

Rare size! Ancient Greek Red Figure Bell Krater, from the Apulian region of southern Italy, ca. middle of 4th century B.C. Blackware pottery, both sides featuring young women (Lady of Fashion portraits), palmettes at sides. Footed base. 4-7/8"H x 5-1/4"W, body intact, both handles repaired (no new clay). A slender Black Figure pottery lekythos decorated with a band of ivy between a trellis pattern and a line of Greek Key decoration just below the shoulder.
Greek, Athens, early 5th Century BC

A beautifully proportioned pottery lekythos with black glazed decoration.
The body of the vessel is painted entirely black except for a single horizontal line of purple which encircles the lower body, another purple band defines the top edge of the foot.
The shoulder is painted with a Greek key frieze above which are two rows of rays which emerge from the neck.
This lekythos demonstrates the high level of skill which was achieved by the Athenian potters and their ability to respect proportion... Click for details

This silver teradrachm (meaning four drachms) is in extremely fine condition and was minted circa 190 B.C. in ancient Mesembria, which was located on the Black Sea coast near modern Nessebur, Bulgaria. Mesembria was an important Greek trading center and produced many stunning gold and silver objects for the Thracian market in the 4th-2nd century B.C. Here you find an Etruscan Genucilia Patera from circa 370 to 350 B.C. Small plates of this type are characteristic of local production influenced by Greek mainland styles. The Genucilia Group comprises of a group of plates produced in Etruria (modern day central Italy) in the 4th century B.C. Mainly manufactured by workshops of Ionic potters who settled in Vulci.
