A pottery oil lamp of uncommon form mounted with a horse-shoe shaped strap handle to the rear. The original black-glazed surface survives in patches. Greek, 6th - 4th Century BC Surface extensively worn otherwise intact. Size: 8.9 x 5.4 cms Ex. private collection, Wiltshire, UK.

A fully intact Greek Apulian red-figure neck-amphora, circa 340-300 BC. Decorated on both sides with a female head. Large volutes and various other filling ornaments below the handles. Height: 18.8 cm. Diameter across top: 7.9 cm. Diameter of base: 6.0 cm. Excellent condition, without restorations. A tiny chip to the rim of the mouth, another below the base rim . Minor calcareous deposits and etched root marks to the surface. Ex German private collection.

Ancient Greek black glazed kylix, South Italy, circa 350 BC. Decorated in the center with five impressed palmettes around an incised circle. Very nice metallic shine to the dark grey-black glaze. Width from handle to handle: 20 cm. Height: 4.8 cm. Excellent condition. No restorations. Single ancient kiln flaw to the rim showing as a small crack. Some calcareous deposits and etched root marks. Ex German private collection.

Rare large ancient Greek Apulian Xenon olpe, circa 325 BC. The body is painted with pinkish orange-red color slip: radiating vertical stripes on the shoulder, the central frieze with olive leafs, a horizontal band with chevrons below. Height: 16.4 cm. Wonderful intact condition. No chips, no cracks, no restorations. Some wear of the paint in places. One small hairline to the rim. Purchased on the Dutch art market.

An Apulian Xenon ware oenochoe, nicely decorated with a palmette and tendrils. Some wear to the decoration and a few chips and wear on the rim. It looks as if this piece may have actually been used rather than being strictly funerary. Magna Graecia, last part of the 4th Century BC. Height 11.7CM [4 5/8”].

Red-figure lekythos attributed to the Eretria Painter. The body is decorated with two muses facing each other. The woman on the right is holding a lyre with a long red ribbon. Between the muses an inscription reading KAL(I)OPA. Kaliope, daughter of Zeus and Mnemosyne, was the muse of epic poetry. This is the second known vase of the Eretria Painter while he was active in the workshop of the Achilles Painter. Greek, from Athens, circa 430 BC. H. 27.5 cm (10.8 in). Attic black-figure lekythos with the rather rare depiction of Pegasus. The winged horse is striding between youths. On the vessel's shoulder an upright palmette flanked by attendants. Greek, from Athens, circa 530 BC. H. 16.5 cm (6.5 in). Broken spout and foot reattached, otherwise intact. Reddish glaze slightly worn in places. German art market.
