A dark grey burnished pottery kandila-shaped vessel from the Trojan region of Western Anatolia. The body is mounted with four lugs and four handles which are pierced both vertically and horizontally; The double-pierced handles are an unusual feature. The Anatolian pottery kandila was the proto-type for the famous shape by the same name produced by Cycladic marble-workers. Early Bronze Age II Amphora with original Ladle calcified into mouth of vessel, circa 3000 - 2750 BCE. Purchased in Israel in 1980s. Globular in form with funnel-shaped mouth, a horned handle on either side. Intact and heavily encrusted with earthen deposits, in great condition. 21 1/2" high.

A Holy Land terracotta oil lamp of the teapot-style or Islamic-type discovered in Israel and dated ca. 1000 AD, the Arab Period. The clay is an orange color and is covered with a heavy desert patina. A very nice Holy Land bronze cosmetic/medicine spoon discovered in Israel and dated 37 BC - 50 AD, the Herodian Era of the Roman Period. The article was broken in antiquity and this portion is in excellent condition.
