Small statue of a reclining chimera. Bronze, with dark and light green encrusted patina. Iran, Luristan, Ca. 9th century B.C. Length: 2 3/8" (6 cm). The statue was originally affixed to a custom wood stand, which bears an old inscription ("griffon", meaning griffin in French) beneath. Very good condition. Ex; old French collection.

A Greco-Bactrian openwork bronze stamp seal excavated in northeastern Afghanistan and dated ca. 2nd century BC. The seal has a 3.5 cm diameter and a heavy green patina and an earthen encrustation. The pattern on top of the seal is a rosette design and there is a drill-hole on the bottom for stringing. Shipping is free and the seal is in excellent condition.

This is an extremely rare, large and heavy Luristan bronze stamp seal that measures 5.35 cm in height with a 5.4 cm diameter across the bottom. The seal is dated to the 8th century BC. A bird decorates the top of the handle and a rosette-type design is on the bottom. There is a drill-hole for stringing and three minor holes on the handle and the base. A fine mid 19th century Mamluk revival inlaid small brass bowl. Intricate silver, copper and tooled background design with leaves and Arabic or Islamic script encircling bowl. The center medallion on the base with endless knot design is quite detailed and finely worked as is the entire bowl. Appears to be all hand hammered/made. Almost 5" in diameter and over 2" high. Moghul jewelry is exceedingly rare, having been "recycled" for its pure gold and fine gemstones during centuries of war and political upheaval. This exquisite example of Persian artistry has a central floral motif set with diamonds on a pavee of rubies. Each of the eight points of its star are set with diamond., sapphires, an emerald, a carnelian, a topaz and a pearl. The finely detailed back features a champlevee design of a bird and floral motifs. Circa 1630.

This gorgeous bronze bowl is from the Sassanian culture that lived in modern day Iran. This piece dates circa 4th-5th century A.D. and is mint quality, and is also in its "as found" condition.
