Circular in form with a scalloped edge, this ¾” wide, incised steatite dot seal pendant (97.287HD) is attributed to the Bactrian Empire of northern Afghanistan dating into the 2nd Millennium BC. In excellent condition, the dot image appears to represent a kneeling figure. The pendant comes with a small display card and a certificate guaranteeing authenticity.

The scorpion was a popular protective image in the ancient Near East. This 8mm x 6mm x 2.5mm agate ring seal (100.57ADHD) depicts the creature on its intaglio face. Found in western Afghanistan during the Russian occupation, the seal is in overall very good condition with a tiny chip just under its rim on the domed base.
