Ancient Greek Roman Bronze Signet Ring Jerusalem 100AD - Please check the complete photo set for this ring. It was found near Jerusalem in Israel and has a nice set of Ancient Greek letters engraved on the very heavy bezel It is a gorgeous example and dates to the period of Roman occupation of Jerusalem or before. Intact and very robust. I'd appreciate any assistance from Scholars of the Ancient Greek language.

This interesting piece is a Roman bronze and silver phalera, which is a Roman military decoration. This piece dates circa 2nd century A.D., is approximately 2.5 inches in diameter and .5 inches deep, and has an attractive dark green patina with spotty red highlights. This piece was an award for bravery and outstanding achievement, and by the mid-second century A.D., these awards developed into a set pattern and a scale according to rank.
