A crisp and clearly moulded pottery oil lamp decorated with a figure of a slave holding a wine amphora. The decoration is undoubtedly intended to have been humorous and this lamp forms part of a group of depictions involving rather unflattering renderings of slaves performing menial tasks often involving wine-related artifacts.
The lamp is signed on the base by the North African lamp-maker CIVNDRAC.
Roman, 1st or early 2nd Century AD

A red slip glazed pottery oil lamp with moulded decoration. The discus of the lamp is moulded with a humorous scene depicting the drunken Silenos riding an ass in a rather hap-hazard fashion.
Silenos was a generally benign demi-god associated with the perils of excessive drinking!
The lamp is signed on the base by the maker: LUCCFOR or CUCCFOR.
Roman, circa 2nd Century AD
Intact apart from the surface chips visible in the photographs.

A moulded red pottery oil lamp of the shape known as "Firmalampen". The tondo is moulded in high relief with a frontal-facing head of the god Pan shown with typical long bearded face and goat's ears. (Pan is thought to have been the iconographic source for early Christian images of the devil).
The lamp is signed in reverse on the base: OCIVAI.

A pottery dish coated in an orange/light red glossy slip and decorated with stamped and incised decoration.
The underside of the dish is decorated with a series of diagonal lines under the rim, the front is decorated with three stylised shields within a series of concentric incised circles.
