A red slip glazed pottery oil lamp with moulded decoration. The discus of the lamp is moulded with a humorous scene depicting the drunken Silenos riding an ass in a rather hap-hazard fashion. Silenos was a generally benign demi-god associated with the perils of excessive drinking! The lamp is signed on the base by the maker: LUCCFOR or CUCCFOR. A red slip ware pottery flask with two strap handles and appliqué decoration to the surface. Both sides of the body are decorated with a single appliqué framed by a pair of palm fronds. Both handles are moulded with stylised palm frond decoration. One appliqué shows a figure of a leaping wild boar. A pedestal foot from a large red ware pottery vase which was broken in antiquity and re-used to create a small bowl. What is now the foot of the present bowl was once the tondo of the larger vessel which had been ground down to form a round edge, the slip covering on the underside of the present foot also testifies to this being an example of "early recycling".
