Chinese Yuan to Ming dynasty high-shouldered short-necked porcelain vase tapering to a slightly splayed unglazed smooth flat base covered in a gray glaze with horizontal striations. A luting line is evident in the glazed interior. Circa 14th/15th century. Measures nearly 4 ¼” high x 3 ¾” diameter; mouth 2 ¼” diameter. Very good overall condition. Chinese Yuan to Ming dynasty black-glazed high-shouldered tapered stoneware storage jar with horizontal striations. The entire jar, including the interior, is glazed, leaving only the underside of the foot and a few chips at the base (which could be production flaws) free of glaze. This is a unique and rare piece of Imari formed as a quatrefoil basket with a reticulated body and pedestal base. The basket is decorated in the characteristic palette of Imari porcelain ware—rich overglaze iron red, underglaze cobalt blue and gilt detailing. A bold iron red roundel on lush scrollwork depicts two ikebana baskets. Very good condition.

Here is a marvelous silver okimono of a seated Daikoku holding his mallet, a beautifully modeled treasure sack at his side. Daikoku’s gleeful expression and the representation of the rat attribute atop his bag help to make this okimono of the lucky god so charming. With original rosewood stand. Excellent condition.
